Re: At what age did DC drink from an open cup (no lid)?
DS was doing this before a year. He prefers a regular cup to a sippy, but he ends up knocking it over a lot of the times. He doesn't get it all over while he's drinking, though.
Every child is different and will do things at a different pace. Sometimes, I think those standards they have are ridiculous. The OT told me that by age 2 they should be able to fully dress and undress themselves. DS is definately NOT fully dressing himself.

um yeah, from an experienced pediatric OT who works with children 2-5 (and elementary aged too), 2 year old kids are not expected to INDEPENDENTLY dress and undress themselves. Now, the undressing portion, yes i can see a lot of 2 year olds doing themselves (not all will though so no worries ladies but dressing is A LOT harder and yes again some may be able to, but a lot of the 3-4 year olds in the classroom i work in (their are special needs and regular ed children in my classes) still need help with shoes, shirts, pulling up pants after toileting, etc. Every child doe sit at their own pace as with sippy cups, bottles, etc. Now if i have a 3 yr old who's parent completely dresses and undresses them, then i have to step in and tell them to let their child do it or teach them
