attaching changing pad to dresser
I purchased a regular dresser from a furniture store and I would like to put a changing pad on top of it. Is there anyway to do this? Is it possible if it is not a changing table/dresser combo? Thanks!

Re: attaching changing pad to dresser
I am using a regular dresser and buying a changing pad to put on top
I am not sure if I plan to secure it.
My hubby and I were thinking some velcro strips (large, long and plenty) should do a good job, but we also don't want to ruin the dresser itself so we may not do that? We are undecided.
Goo Gone is a wonderful thing and takes off most sticky stuff so we only have to worry about the paint on the dresser coming off, but we can always sand and repaint. (which is why I want white). I dunno.
We're still looking at other securing options.

Re: attaching changing pad to dresser
Our pad had straps that you screw into the back of the dresser...we just screwed them in and the pad can't come off..

I just asked the same question recently. We just bought new furniture for the baby's room and I thought it was weird to have to screw into brand new furniture to secure the changing pad, but that's exactly what the want you to do and so I did it. I double checked when I went to babies r us and they said that is what you are supposed to do. The woman who worked there showed me exactly where you are supposed to screw it in too. So we did it this past weekend. You can see it because it's in the back of the furniture and that will always be facing a wall... so no biggy.

Exactly...I was hesitant at first, but my husband insisted it was fine (he was right!)...I'm glad that I secured it since my daughter was always a feisty one and moved like crazy all the time!

Re: attaching changing pad to dresser
we never secured the changing pad and we don't plan on doing it with this one either. IMO it's unnecessary as long as you are right there. We never had a problem with DD and the pad never moved around on us. You have to keep one hand on the baby while you're changing it anyway.

Re: attaching changing pad to dresser
Thank you everyone for your suggestions!! I will either secure it, or not do anything since I will be right there changing DD with my hand on her

Re: attaching changing pad to dresser
if you want to do a little something and not harm the furniture, what about putting one of those non-slip rubber shelf liners (look like the no-skid things you put under a rug underneath
