Question about changing pad on dresser?
I remember seeing in the stores the changing pads attached to the back on the dressers ( I thought with snaps) but my dresser and or changing pad did not come with snaps. My changing pad came with some screws. I am supposed to screw the changing pad into the new furniture?
How did you all attached your changing pad to the top of the dresser if you do not have the raised wood edges so the baby doesn't fall over?
TIA!

Re: Question about changing pad on dresser?
I used an existing dresser that I owned already and bought the cushion topper. I had to screw in the snaps to the top of the dresser and the cushion has raised sides. She has been fine with no railing(16 months later!).

Re: Question about changing pad on dresser?
I would screw it in to the back of the furniture and try to keep it as close to the wall as possible. This is what many people are doing and it seems to work just fine. Just don't walk away from baby (obviously).

Re: Question about changing pad on dresser?
For my daughter, we actually used a lovely dresser, painted it the colors of the nursery, and attached the bottom of the pad using two strips of wide double-sided adhesive velcro ( a few $ at Walmart). It was really strong! When she outgrew the need for a changing station, we used simple alcohol to clean up the residue.
We will do this again with this baby.

Re: Question about changing pad on dresser?
Oh no - do not put screws into your new furniture Most changing pads have non-slip bottoms - just put it on top. It'll move around some but nothing crazy. Since you use the changing pad for less than a year usually it is absolutely not worth ruining your furniture. If they're going to roll off, they'll do so regardless of whether the changing pad is attached to the dresser or not.

Re: Question about changing pad on dresser?
I screwed mine into the back of the dresser (small screws) and I also put a no slip mat under it. It was fine!! I am using the same one for #2

Re: Question about changing pad on dresser?
I didn't screw mine in, but we do have the removable rails on our dresser.

Re: Question about changing pad on dresser?
Didn't screw mine in and I don't have rails.
Like a PP said, my pad has a slip-resistant bottom - it's hard to move on its own.
One year later and no issues (knock on wood).
