Avent/Dr. Browns/Born Free-Bottle Question
I was in BRU deciding between the Born Free, Dr. Brown, Avent...you know how times have changed, I used to spend time thinking, Corona, or Amstel..lol...anyhow.....
And someone in the store, already a mom...pointed out the playtex drop-ins nurser, and how great they are..etc. she was so great and helpful....the major pro was the sanitization of the process...you just throw out the liner!
What did you ladies decide on???

Re: Avent/Dr. Browns/Born Free-Bottle Question
As you know I registered for all three starter sets and also added the playtex Ven-something ones.
Who knows what he will like so I figured to try them all out.

Re: Avent/Dr. Browns/Born Free-Bottle Question
I started with Advent but they leaked so I switched to Dr. Browns. I would register for a few different ones and see which ones your baby takes to the most and then stock up on them.

Re: Avent/Dr. Browns/Born Free-Bottle Question
Are you going to breastfeed?
I am BF-ing and since i'm going back to work I need to get her to take the breast milk from a bottle eventually so we've been trying different bottles.
The born free she hates (we got the whole starter set of that which is now a waste... maybe she'll take them when she's bigger though) and today we tried the playtex drop in with the slow flow nipple and she took it no problem!
I would advise against getting any of the starter sets and just get a few single bottles to try out.

Thank you! This is EXACTLY what the new mom in BRU said yesterday...if you are going to BF, the playtex drop in is a miracle!
PS-she is beautiful congratulations!!!!

Re: Avent/Dr. Browns/Born Free-Bottle Question
I registered for the Playtex VentAire Systems. They reduce gas, spitting up, colic and ear infections. My nephews liked these ones the best. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Avent/Dr. Browns/Born Free-Bottle Question
I registered for the Playtex Drop-Ins figuring they were the easiest etc. Well turns out my DS hates them and would not take a bottle when I used them at all, plus it's hard to judge how many ounces he was taking (when to burp etc) ...so I switched to Dr.Brown's because I liked how they said the baby gets less air..then I HATED them...cleaning the parts nearly drove me to insanity...finally thanks to davenjess I got the Playtex Ventaire which are MUCH easier IMO to clean and assemble, plus the baby still gets less air. HTH.

Re: Avent/Dr. Browns/Born Free-Bottle Question
I am also a new mom-to-be, and planning on breast feeding and pumping. I read a ton of reviews on the BRU website and finally decided on The First Years PBA Free 3 Pk Breastflow bottle (5 oz.), and the Playtex PBA Free 3 Pk Drop-Ins Nurser - 8 oz. I also registered for a few extra nipples for the First Years, and a bunch of liners for the playtex. They both had good reviews. I figured I'll see which ones he likes better and I could return the extra stuff for any bottles he doesn't like. If he likes them both, , I'll use the 5 oz when he's little and the 8 oz when he's bigger, or figure out some other clever combo. I hope he likes the Playtex. You don't use a bottle warmer with them. Just put the liner in a cup of warm tap water for a few minutes if you want to heat them up.
