Baby measuring small at all sono appointments. Could I have implanted late? (Long Sorry)

I had alot of issues so far this pregnancy. I had bleeding in the beginning and was put on progesterone. I had horrible morning sickness and lost 7lbs. I have already had four sonos and I'm only 12 weeks.

So, I know for sure that I either ovulated on June 20 or 21st, (Got a smiley on both days) I'm almost postive 21st since I felt pain in left side, which I later found out was the side I ovulated from. Every sono I have had has the baby measuring small for where I figured I should be. I just had my 12 week sono done on thursday. According to my ovulation date, I should of been 12 weeks 2days, but I measured 11 weeks 5 days. The OB wasn't concerned. The heart beat has always been good, and the baby looks great. He/she was waving its arms and boucing around. Now of course I'm worried I may have caused something to be wrong. I took prenatals months before I got pregnant and remained taking them up until about week 9 but missed day here and there, since it didn't stay down. . Now I can't swallow them without wanting to puke. I started chewy viatmins instead. This happend with my son too. I will start taking them again soon. I hardly ate, and what I did alot of times didn't stay down.
Could I have implanted late? Would that make a difference.

sure you could have implanted late but i honestly wouldn't be worried that you're measuring less than a week off. know it's hard but try to relax - its the best thing you can do. if your OB isn't concerned, you shouldn't be either.

you get the smiley 12 to 36 hours BEFORE you ovulate, so you probably O'd more like the 22nd or 23rd. And all sonos are +/- 2 to 3 days, so that probably makes up the difference. If all looks good, I wouldn't worry. I had spotting in the beginning and was also on progesterone (as I was with my last pregnancy). I'm 18 weeks-- no issues.

eta-- they also calculate due dates on your last period-- so if your cycles are longer than 28 days, it will also be off by a few days.

I don't think you should worry about being a few days behind. I did IVF, so i know exactly when I ovulated and exactly when the embryo implanted. I just had a 28week growth sono and my Was in the 49th percentile, but measured a few days behind. If your doctor isn't concerned than I wouldn't worry! A due date isn't an exact date, it is just an estimate. Good luck!

By what my lmp says I sjpumd be at and what my baby is measuring are two different things. My doc just said must have emulated later. With my first dd I was off too, but all turned out well, just ended up changing EDD, just like now. If baby has string heart beat and your feeling good other than the morning sickness I wouldnt worry. Best thing you can do for your baby is limit the stress and worrying that you r putting on yourself. Good luck, I know a few people who didn't take prenatals and just substituted with reg vitamins while adding extras to make up the difference that was missing to.equal prenatals and all went good with pregnancy.

Sperm could have met egg late. Those things have some time of survival in them.

I've been measuring "off" this entire pregnancy... I'm not too worried.

Thanks! Everyone is making me feel better. I think I will ask doctor again at next appointment. I didn't have any of these issues with my DS, so this is all new to me.

DD always measured a week behind. I had a great old fashioned doctor that said he didn't understand why babies were measured by weeks and months - he explained how could a baby made by two very little people and a baby made by two very large people, be compared on the same exact scale!

That being said, DD ended up being 6 days late! perfectly healthy!

That being said, DD ended up being 6 days late! perfectly healthy!

I am 35 weeks , same thing happened to me but I am a week behind according to my OB. Just FYI...I had stonybrook do my sonos and my OB do the rest. Stonybrook has this baby measuring approx 4 days later then my practice. This makes me think its just the drs measurements with the machine, not exact results. Also, I agree with the "sperm meets egg theory". If its a girl it could def have come together later then if it were a boy. Female egg/sperm live longer then male.
