Baby registry - shower is next week
I'm making my daughter's baby shower next week. I've been peeking at the registry and can't believe that VERY little has been bought!! I bought a few things (people who cant make it asked me to pick up things from them) and my son in laws mom bought something. One or two other items were bought but that's it!! I know people wait till the last minute, but I hope they go shopping soon or it looks like I'll be buying alot of things after the shower! I was out all day today and checked it tonite, expecting a few things to be off it, but not one single thing was bought today. We don't know what the baby is  so I'm hoping people don't buy too many clothes!! I know people take it upon themselves to buy what "they" like even if it's not on the registry, but that's the whole purpose of the registry! To get what the mom and dad need!!

If it makes you feel any better, my shower is tomorrow and not much has been bought off of my registry either.

my shower is in 2 weeks & i have the same hope you do... im really hoping people are just waiting till the last minute b/c there is A LOT of "big" items left on my registry

Also, maybe they bought things but it didn't come off the registry? or she may be getting lots of Gift Cards.

My shower is in two weeks also and not alot is bought... It probably late shoppers... plus I remember from my bridal shower that people bought bigger items at other places (must have been cheaper)...

Hi, just wanted to let you know that at my shower a lot of things WERE bought off my registry but they didnt take it off at the Babies R US register.

yeah, sometime people just don't mark things off the registry, but sometimes people also just do their own thing. I'm not sure WHY. I mean the whole point of a registry is because you need or want these things, you don't need or want random knicknacks. At my Bridal Shower years ago people did that to me - because a lot of my stuff was 'online only' and because people waited until the last minute (when they no longer had time to order things) they just got me whatever. It was kind of dissapointing.
Also though, a lot of people end up buying baby clothes for the shower rather than what mom actually needs (I guess because it's cheaper). People might be doing that. I'm seriously considering asking people NOT to buy me any clothes. lol. I've had friends who have gotten way too many outfits that the baby grew out of in about a month, meanwhile there was still tons of stuff she needed and had to buy on her own. It's probably rude to ask that though...

I had my shower 2 weeks ago and I noticed that a lot of the items that were bought were off my registry but never actually showed online as being purchases... and on top of that I got a lot of clothes and other items that weren't really a necessity. I have a feeling b/c Buy Buy Baby and Babies R Us aren't all right around the corner from everyone, they just go to local stores and pick out items they like...

People buy at the last minute. I was at a friend's shower two weeks ago. 48 hours before her shower, there were tons of options on the registry... but once I got there, she got almost everything she needed! Keep in mind that people may find a specific registry item at another store that's cheaper or closer to their house.
