Baby Shower - vent/question...

So I was talking to my mom and she mentioned that my best friend called her last week and is helping out with my shower now and is going to pick up the decorations and cake the day of.... Which is great, however I know my mom and mother in law already booked it a few weeks ago... Then she goes on to tell me that she felt bad that Sam (my best friend) was upset that she can't be the god mother - it's not that I'm being mean but she is Jewish so it's not possible.... So to make her feel better my mom put her on the invite as a host of the shower. I know my mother in law is going to flip out for one, but also shouldnt it only list the people that are actually throwing it?

I don't know if I'm just being hormonal or am I justified for being annoyed at the situation?

Not sure why you are upset?

It seems like your mom did something nice for your friend, maybe your mom and MIL discussed it since they are planning the shower together?

And maybe they are all listed as the "hosts"

I do think your mom should have checked with your MIL before making that decision. Your mom and MIL are both adults so if MIL flips out, tell her to take it up with your mom. You shouldn't have to stress out about it.

She told me she didn't speak to my MIL , so i guess i just think it should have been discussed. I know she was trying to be nice, but I don't want it to create a problem with my MIL, she won't say anything to my mom just complain to the family which my husband will have to deal with. And I sort of feel like 3 names on a shower invite is too much.
