Back to Swaddling!
And it makes all the difference. We decided to swaddle Bella again one arm out after four nights of disaster. With the exception of one waking at 11:30 pm (we gave her one free pass and I went in and gave her the binkie) She slept until 7:30 this morning without a peep! (so she slept from 8:15-7:30 with that one minute waking at 11:30)
I can't believe it. Her right arm is the culprit of our sleepless nights...
We see the doctor on Tuesday for her 7 month appt, so I will bring it up then...but she was in such a good mood this morning, it was great to have my amazing baby back...
Thanks everyone for your advice...my gut was telling me to keep swaddling, I just don't want to set her back in any way because most babies are done with this by now...

Re: Back to Swaddling!
Happy to hear you have your little back. I think you did the right thing. I would mention it to the dr and see what he says. In the end I dont think it is so bad that she is being swaddled. I am sure when she starts moving around she will grow out of it.

Re: Back to Swaddling!
awww...I'm glad to hear she is back to her happy self!
I don't see anything wrong with her wanting to be swaddled. If that is what makes her comfortable, she will tell you when she is not ready.

this makes me feel better...I know some kids are swaddled for longer, but I felt like after 6 months we were the only ones...

Re: Back to Swaddling!
I really believe if we let them our children will let us know when they are ready for change (ie no more swaddling). Miranda was still in our room until a few weeks ago when it got to the point that none of us were getting a good night's sleep so we tried the crib and it was a smooth transition. She was still swaddled as well but lately would bust her arms out herself during the night. I tried with no swaddle at all and she doesn't settle down which tells me she still needs/wants the swaddle. So I wrap it loosely and as she sleeps her arms get free and she is able to get her pacifier herself when she needs it. Again a smooth transition. There is nothing wrong with still swaddling her. I even asked my ped. about it and he said if that's what helps her sleep then there is no need to stop, most of their milestones are worked on during waking hours. I think you're better off swaddling her until she's ready to stop. This way you all get a good night's sleep and have your happy little girl.

Re: Back to Swaddling!
I might go back to swaddling Hayley. The last week she has been getting up at 5am and the last 2 nights its 3am and 5am. I give her her binky and rock her a bit and she will go back to sleep but the broken sleep is killing me
