Bad Mommy moment today
So my sister, her husband and DD were here for the weekend - her DD is 2 and in the full throws of the terrible, terrible, terrible 2's so the whole weekend revolved around her and her tantrums. Today we were sitting outside and the kids were opening baskets, eating candy etc and DS who is 8 months was in the middle of all the action. I tried to keep as close of an eye on him as possible but my two year old niece was causing so much drama that a lot of my time was spent trying to placate her.
I took DS up to feed him and he was acting really fussy - would start to feed (bf) but would then stop and act like there was a bad taste in his mouth so I switched him to the other side - same thing. Figured he might have a sore throat or teething or something so tried him with the paci but he spat it straight out. Came downstairs and put him down to play on the floor while I helped my sister get packed up and got them out the door (adios!!!) they had left about 5 minutes when DS started to gag - I grabbed him and he vomited up on the floor and when I looked down there in the middle of the vomit was a small candy wrapper from a piece of chocolate
I nearly died and feel so bad for my little guy. I know he is okay but what if I had put him down to sleep - would he have choked?
I cannot bear to think about it and he is asleep here beside me as I cannot bear to put him down in case he vomits again.
Lesson learned- DO NOT get distracted by anyone else while you have a crawler on your hand even if its a very loud and demanding two year old.

Re: Bad Mommy moment today
TG you were there. This is a good lesson to learn, especially b/c my little ones are around those ages. Thanks for sharing...
