Bad pains in your hands.. carpull tunnel and vent....

So the pains and tingles in my hands have gotten worse and now my OB is making me see a neurologist. I wake up all night besides 100 times to pee but also because of these pains in my hands.

Its getting so bad that this morning i couldnt turn the pages of my book on the train.

The Ob says he is worried that the baby is on my nerves and that it could become permanent, especially since its this bad at 32 weeks. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Did this happen to anyone else? even a minor case?

Besides that i walk into my boss telling me my belly looks bigger then i did when i left work Friday... c'mon people i get it, my belly is big!!! enough already... One more person asks me if its twins I might be seen on the news for murder!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Aww, I'm sorry. I don't really have advise bc I am only 9 weeks and actually just a had a few carpel tunnel pains yesterday. I never even knew this could happen with pregnancies!

Just wanted to offer hugs! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I would not get nervous, I have been dealing with extreme carpal tunnel since 25w....I saw a neurologist & he confirmed that it was just that, "pregnancy induced carpal tunnel" He said there truly was nothing they could do until after I delivered & if it didn't go away, the would do some tests. He was confident though it would not come to that.

The one thing that helps me at night is wearing a brace to bed that restricts the movements in my wrists & also I guess the compressed pressure keeps the pins & needles to a minimum. I only have a sore feeling in my actual fingers during the day almost like arthritis.

Thank you!! Yeah I didnt know it could happen either but i would reccomend that if you are starting to have the pain now, you should get the braces that go on your hand/wrist at night when you sleep and it should help and hopefully keep you from getting it worse.

Thank you!! That makes me feel a lot better. I was hoping that it would just be the regular pregnancy induced carpul tunnel and i feel confident the neurologist will confirm the same, its just really uncomfy and frustrating. I did just start wearing the braces and appreciate tha advice...Chat Icon Chat Icon

Sorry to hear that you're suffering Chat Icon I've been having severe CT issues all pg as well (I had it in both hands pre-pg & it's gotten progressively worse since about week 9w). My OB made me see a neurologist as well, but he wouldn't do anything this late in the pregnancy even though there are indicators that permanent damage is being done now Chat Icon At this point I barely sleep anymore...after about 30 seconds on my side I start getting severe pains from my shoulders down to my fingers, accompanied by severe burning sensations. I started soaking my arms in pitchers of ice water pre-bedtime & put my braces on afterwards & that helped a little bit for a little while, but not so much anymore...maybe it will help you though? I hope that you get better news from your neurologist & that he can help you out soon...feel better Chat Icon
