Re: Bad toddler vent
Im with you. Ds is a HUGE handfull. I try timeout I think he isnto young for them (19 months). I have smacked his bottom I have taken things away. Nothing works. A for instance, i was in rite aid the other day. I say that i will get him a car pick one. Well he picks like five. So I tell him we need to put some back and start to do so. Well you would have thought I shot himnin the foot. He flipped out pulled my shirt and bra so bad thT my boob fell out of the bottom of my bra. All this while the diphead behind the counter is staringr at me i was livid with him and you know you cant smack your kid infront of anyone. So i put all the cars back he got nothing that was even worse. He screamed the entire way home. Mind you we have about 50 cars here. He is abeast. Dh lets him get away with murder because he works like mad so he leaves being the bad guy to me. All i do is yell i literally countdown to bedtime some days. Its very hard. If this is going on now two and three should be freaking wonderful.

I find myself counting down the hours until bedtime also...for instance today I started counting down the hours at 11am! Re: Bad toddler vent
Aiden can be a handful but I find that certain situations make it worse. I take quick shopping trips in and out. I make sure that he is able to run around outside at least an hour or more a day. He takes a nap everyday. He will try and bite me when he is frustrated but I say no and redirect him. He doesn't have many words yet so I know that some of the screaching and whining are his ways of getting his point across. His really cranky times are in the evening so I keep him busy -- coloring, reading, playing with blocks etc. He also loves Pajanimals so I throw that on in the evenings. A long bath also helps :)
