Basal Body Temp - who does it...need help

Can someone give me the Intro to Basal Body Temping?

I just bought one from Rite Aid during my lunch break.

I am going to start CD 1 which should be Saturday or Sunday.

What pattern am I looking for?

You are looking for a spike in temperature this shows that ovulation has or will occur...Just started it this month. Do it as soon as you wake up...before you even get out of the bed. Should be at the same time each day

Check out fertilityfriend.com. There's a charting tutorial that'll walk you through it. But basically, like the PP said, you're looking for a pattern of low temperatures and then a sustained shift to a second higher level of temps after ovualtion. Your BBT won't tell you you're going to ovulate, but rather confirms that you have, after the fact. You need to take your temperature every morning at the same time, before you get up, talk, eat, go to the bathroom etc.

make sure you take temp at the same time everyday, right when you wake up
dont get out of bed or move too much

Also your temp is supposed to remain higher when you get pregnant so you should be able to tell if you are pregnant by the temps if you have charted them
