baseboard heat
So, my 4 yr old hates to hear it at night.
We have it timed for the upstairs zone to turn on at 7PM and now I have to move it to later so DS doesn't hear it make the crackling sound when it turns on. We have been living in the house for just about 3 yrs and now it bothers him. I do understand bc when it's real cold out it can get loud. First few nights in the winter it freaked me out a bit. I did explain to him what it is and he just said sometimes it's scary even though he knows it's the heat. Now I wait till he's asleep to turn it on and hope it doesn't wake him, which it has a few times. Anyone deal with this? My 2 yr old doesn't seem to mind and the funny thing is my 4 yr old is a heavier sleeper than my 2yr old, but that doesn't wake him.

Do you have a white noise machine in his room? That's the kind of thing that would definitely bother me which is why I've slept with one for years. I highly recommend the marpac on high!

Yes, I do. It's been low lately, but good idea. I should turn the volume up.

I would probably put it on at 6 that way it is already running and it won't wake him up.

In the winter though it keeps going on to keep temperature. Especially when it's really cold. I just started turning it up earlier and then lowering it when we put him to sleep so it doesn't turn on. Just at night it goes on and off. THe thermostat is in our room.
