Bassinet/Play yard question
BTDT mommies can you plese help? I'm stuck on this one. I would like the babies to sleep in our room for a couple of months so I was thinking of putting one of the cribs in our room so they can sleep together for a couple of months or should I get 2 bassinets so they get used to sleeping alone and I can bring the bassinets into the living room if necessary. An alternative would be the double pack n play, but I hear they are not ideal and babies grow out of quickly also. What play yard did you choose and how did you handle first couple of months, directly into their own rooms/cribs or in your room to start, but how? Anyone still expecting what are your plans? TIA!

Re: Bassinet/Play yard question
I had a cradle in my room that they slept together in. I also had a pack and play downstairs that they slept together in. They stayed like that til 3 months, then they started to move too much and I put them in their own cribs. They were fine being apart.

Re: Bassinet/Play yard question
I had a regular pack and play in my room which had the bassinet part which is raised and a swing away changing table.
They slept on the top part of the pnp until they were over 15lbs together (which happens fast), then they slept on the bottom for a bit. Now they sleep in a crib together in their room. I transitioned them when I didn't feel like bending down and picking them up anymore in the pnp.
I have a bassinet too but neither really like it. I leave it in the living room in case I need to put one down for a bit.

Re: Bassinet/Play yard question
I had the double pack and play in the living room when they were napping. It lasted long for us because my two were preemie (2 mths) so they only recently grew out of it.
We had them sleeping in our room for the first 4-5 months in the Fisher Price Sleep and PLay Rockers..LOVE THEM! Its like a cradle and I had it on the side of my bed. When the baby fussed (and it wasnt time to eat) I would just reach over and rock it back to sleep. These things were a life savor!

Re: Bassinet/Play yard question
We used a Arm's Reach Co-sleeper and I lived it! It has one side down so it can attach to the side if your bed (or you can pull it up and it becomes just like a pack n play. It was great because I could easy reach them without even sitting up in bed and I could just open my eyes and see how they were doing. At six months, I moved them to their cribs in their room (and into separate rooms at 7 mo because of DS's sleep issues!).

Re: Bassinet/Play yard question
We started out using the double PNP and both babies had a hard time sleeping due to acid reflux. We switched over to the Fisher Price Sleep and Rocker and they love it!!!!! They are now 3 1/2 months and we are going to start putting them into their own cribs but I hate to part with the Sleep and Rocker, it has been a life saver!
