Bath soap suggestions for baby
Does anyone have any recommendations for bath soap for newborn babies? What is everyone registering for? Which one is supposed to be best for newborns?!?! Thanks!!

I registered for California Baby, but am also ordering Shaklee Baby to try. I am staying away from anything with phalates and the other chemicals.

I found Aveeno to be best so far. I also loved Johnson's bedtime bath for when he was very little because it really did get him sleepy!

Aveeno or California Baby. Johnsons & Johnsons was too drying.

I have heard that Aveeno is great, especially over Johnson & Johnson as PP said.

DS isn't here yet...but we chose Aveeno products for him (lotions, washes, etc).
They make a bedtime bath, just like Johnson & Johnson! I got the daily lotion and regular wash, but also the calming lotion and calming wash.

Re: Bath soap suggestions for baby
100% recommend California Baby. We use the Sensitive Skin one b/c it has no fragrance. You know how crazy I am about chemicals and all the organic stuff. This stuff is $$ but sooo worth it! Baby could eat it if he wanted to b/c it's all natural goodness
They have it in Target.

Re: Bath soap suggestions for baby
When I took DS to the dermatologist he said the best thing to go with is Cetaphil because it doesn't base it's product on foods. Like Oatmeal. Most products like California Baby, and Aveeno are based off of food and nuts. I am pretty sure has a vegetable based product. This can actually cause big problems when you haven't introduced these foods into babies system but you are putting them on babies skin. I realized this when I started using California Baby and my DS broke out in a rash all over. Turns out he is allergic to Lavender.

I used Aveeno when DS was a newborn, then when he was an infant straight to DOVE sensitive, fragrance free bar soap.

I see Aquaphor makes a baby wash and it got great reviews on BRU. I might try that one.

What stores carry Shaklee Baby products & Earth Mama Angel Baby?
I plan on using California Baby & Nature's Baby Organics.

For the first year or so, Cetaphil was all DD could use. She had an allergy to oatmeal, so aveeno was out, and the ped thought J&J would also be a problem.

Re: Bath soap suggestions for baby
I use J&J bedtime bath wash and Aquaphor lotion after the bath. During the day I use Aveno body lotion if her skin gets dry. I'll be honest once these bottles of lotion/bath stuff are gone i'm switching to Burt's Bees or Cetaphil. I like the ingred. list better, but I have so much of it I can't waste it all. Anybody want some unopened J&J?

The baby class we took said to use Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo. Is that weird?

Re: Bath soap suggestions for baby
DS isn't here yet but I plan to use Dove (the unscented kind) in the beginning when he is a newborn and then I'll switch to J&J - I got a TON of it at my shower and as long as seems okay with it, i'll use that until we run out.
