Bathroom preferance poll
Do you prefer to have double sinks with less counter space or a single sink with more counter space? Main hall bathroom if that matters.

For main hall bath I'd say more counterspace.
If it was a master bath, I'd say double sinks.

Re: Bathroom preferance poll
Counter space for sure!!! I need room for my makeup, toothbrushes, etc... we would have no need for double sinks because we're never in the bathroom at the same time & if we do happen to brush our teeth at the same time we can share a sink.

Re: Bathroom preferance poll
I say more counter space. If there is enough room for ample counter space and double sinks, then do the sinks though. Our last home had a long wall where the sinks were so we had room for both.

I never really got the need for double sinks. Unless you are the Brady bunch how often is the bathroom being used at the same time.

Bathroom preferance poll
We switched out main hall bath from double sinks to a single one to have more counter space. I have pics in an album.

Re: Bathroom preferance poll
Counter space...DH and I are never in need of the same sink at the exact same time. Maybe if we had one bathroom I would think differently, but we have two.

How is the storage situation? is there a master, or are you using this bathroom? maybe I'm too much of a neat nick, but we have double sinks, we have a toothbrush holder, a cup dispenser, and 2 soap dispensers on it, that's it. Everything else is, and should be stored. We have 2 medicine cabinets, 3 drawers, and 2 spaces of under sink storage.
I have my sink, my wife has hers. we only use at the same time on rare occasions, but we do sometimes. I'm not saying its a deal breaker by any means, but it is nice to have your own.
4ft vanity, definitely 1 sink, 5 ft 2 is possible, or 1, anything larger, definitely 2.
IMHO if you have lots of stuff on top of your vanity, you need to find a better storage solution when redoing the bathroom.

This, never understood it...especially on House Hunters when the wife would be like it's a must have and complain half the show lol.

Re: Bathroom preferance poll
Depends on how big the vanity is. We changed ours over to two sinks and I LOVE it. I was worried about space too, but ours is I think 5ft. And there is enough space for all our stuff. We also have 3 large drawers in the vanity and storage space under both sinks so I'm happy with my decision for 2 sinks. Even Dh says he's glad we did it. My sister even moved in with us for a year, and there's enough room for her stuff too.

This is my thought too. I have very little storage, & I about having more space, but I would prefer it to be storage, not counter space. One of have my bathrooms has decent counter space, but I only keep soap & my Clarasonic out ( only/ b/c it has to dry, and I am not how when it finally does. I put it in a drawer when people are coming over. )
So, I would probably do 1 sink & not a huge countertop, but some kind of storage next to it if there was space.
