BBQ MENU HELP/ RIBS RECIPE!!!

So next weekend we are having relatives from Australia over for a BBQ. When I emailed my cousin asking about particular food everyone liked/disliked, all she said was the adults had sensitive stomach (no onions) and she was so EXCITED to experience a real American BBQ and she always wanted to eat RIBS!

So I need help with my menu as well as a good rib recipe for a novice. Cooking for about 20 people, so was thinking along these lines:

Apps:
Spinach Dip
Taco Dip
Chips, Salsa Guac,
Veggie Platter

Main Course
Burgers/Franks
Pulled Pork
Mac n cheese
Cole Slaw
Potato Salad
Baked Beans
Big Garden Salad
Corn
RIBS (if possible)

What do you think? Any advice & help greatly appreciated!!

TIA!!

Go to the food network and get ALton Browns rib rub recipe....OMG they are the BEST ribs....EVVVVVVVERChat Icon

I think you have a lot of food and it sounds good, but you MUST have BBQ ribs if they are excited for a real American BBQ.....That would be like eating Mexican without beans and rice or Italian without meatballs

ribs are so easy!!!
i make them 2 ways.....
-boil in a huge pot of water for about an hour, then cook on BBQ with some BBQ sauce.
-rub with a dry rub, bake in oven on low (300) all day. the last hour or so i baste half of them with BBQ sauce.

Re: BBQ MENU HELP/ RIBS RECIPE!!!

Thanks for the input!! My step-mom is taking care of the ribs, SIL is doing corn bread.

We are going to do burgers and dogs too along with all the sides.

Now I am torn between BBQ Chicken or Pulled Pork??

If I do BBQ Chicken, anyone have a good way to do it?? Was going to do pulled pork in the crock pot. Can I do that with the chicken? I have a ton of BBQ sauce and trying to make life easy!!

Thanks!!

You can make the chicken the same way you would the pulled pork. Shredded BBQ chicken. Easy and yummy!

You can totally do pulled chicken the same way. Or you can get chicken on the bone and cover it in sauce, bake in the over (it takes a while to cook chicken on the bone) then put on grill to brown!
