Bed Bugs
I've read a lot of Port Orleans Riverside reviews that said they encountered Bed Bugs at the resort. I am aware they can be found almost anywhere but now I'm panicking. Has anyone here ever actually encountered bed bugs? Do you check the hotel rooms when you enter for them?

Bed Bugs
I do a check before we bring everything into the room. I've never found a live bug, but I did find a skin casing once and asked for a different room in a different section of the hotel. This was in Philadelphia, not Disney.

Re: Bed Bugs
I check every room no matter where it is as soon as I walk in.

Me too. Thankfully I have never found anything.
On a separate note, we had a student bring bedbugs to my office last year. We ended up finding about a handful over the course of a couple weeks and had to have the whole office treated. It was a fiasco. No one from my office brought them home, it was totally contained just in my office. I’m actually glad I got to see the bugs in person so I know what to look out for. You can really pick them up anywhere, not just hotels.

Bed Bugs
I travel to Disney annually. I've never encountered a bed bug there. I do check upon entering the room at every hotel I stay at.
Last June I stayed at a Holiday Inn in New Jersey. I inspected the entire room upon check in - found nothing. In the morning I was sitting on the bed and saw one on the pillow. I scooped it up in a tissue, took a photo, and went downstairs to the front desk with it. We then got plastic bags from the maids' cart and stuffed everything we owned into them. I tossed the contents of the bags into the dryer for 20 minutes when we got home, and we never saw another one.
