Bed rest after transfer?

Did your doctor recommend this for the first 2 days after a transfer? I just had a FET today and am supposed to take it really easy today and tomorrow. I want to go to my moms for Easter and am not sure if I should. I've been looking online about it and am reading that although most REs recommend it, it has not been shown to make a difference in the outcome.

Re: Bed rest after transfer?

I laid in bed for several days after the transfer. I realize this isn't the norm and I will not claim this is WHY I had success with my IVF cycle, although I know it can't hurt!! Chat Icon

Re: Bed rest after transfer?

My RE always recommended bed rest for 48 hours after transfer and the 2 times that I did that, I did get pregnant. I can't say that it's WHY, but I also did other things along with that that are "said" to increase your chances, like eating pineapple core, etc.

My RE said that if you hear that you're supposed to be on bed rest and then you don't do it, if the cycle doesn't work you are going to question/blame yourself, KWIM?

I definitely took it easy, but not bed rest... Actually I think it was Sandra who told me that lying down too much could make my body "stagnant" and that moving around a little might be better. Who the heck knows what really works?!

Re: Bed rest after transfer?

i stayed home from work for a few days after transfer. i pretty much laid around. my RE didn't say it was 100% necessary, but he did say if it was possible i should consider staying home and relaxing. i wouldn't consider it real bed rest, i def got up and showered and cooked and took a walk here or there. so you should be fine going to easter assuming you aren't playing sports or doing anything particularly active.
