Bed rest = mind jail
I'm on strict bed rest now due to bleeding, started Monday morning. I can get up to use the bathroom and been sitting up to eat but other than that been laying down. The more I lay here the more I just replay in my mind what it's like to go through a second trimester loss. That can't be my life again. I'm just so nervous and no amount of tv or books could help. I'm a prisoner in my own mind till we go for our next appt and get confirmation the little guy is doing ok. I just feel so sick over the worry at this point. I know the stress isn't good but all I want to do at this point is lay in bed and cry for the next 57hrs till my next appt. Pregnancy is such a mind fuckk. I just hate living in fear.

Bed rest = mind jail
Can you go back to the dr sooner? I know the office may feel it's excessive but if you were able to put your mind at ease even if that means going every couple of days, I would think it would be better stress wise for you & baby. Hugs!!

thanks, yeah I actually called this morning and said I don't need a full appt, I literally just want 2 mins to see the baby, his heartbeat, and I'll be on my way!
I'm waiting for a call back to hear when/if I can get squeezed in.
I hear those sono machines cost like 50k. I'm game if anyone wants to chip in with me. I'm not even kidding!!

I'm trying to get a hold of my friend that's a tech over at Winthrop to get scanned on my lunch break. I graduated last week but my OB visit isn't until next Monday. I'm a nurse but don't have access to the sono machines

My former surrogate was a sono tech
If anyone is up for a road trip to Connecticut we could line up outside and demand she take us in one by one!

Have you considered renting or buying a doppler? It might put your mind at ease so you could think positive thoughts and be calm.prenatal heart listener

Re: Bed rest = mind jail
Thanks Gina! I just mean because I've been replaying the 'what ifs' ... the day gets kind of monotonous/lonely and I was told to lay down more than sit up which is limiting as far as doing stuff on the computer, but the days have been going by quickly still! I know I shouldn't complain because I'm hoping to get off bed rest by the end of the week and there are people on it so much longer. It's really my anxiety making it so much worse because we're approaching the time that we lost my first (17wk3d) and I just so badly want to make it beyond that point and create new milestones.

Re: Bed rest = mind jail
You know I am one of your biggest fans.
Im not PG, wasnt, and wont tell you "it will be ok".
The fact is either something will happen, or nothing will. Its hard to think about the "what if's" because you have LIVED it.
So what I say is download a movie you KNOW makes you laugh. watch the clip about the nekked guy in the hotel.
ALLOW your mind to ease, give yourself permission to relax. Right now, "what if" cant be answered. It cant. What CAN be answered is you doing everything in your power to do whats right. Bedrest and alm. Thats what your job is.
Give your good energy a chance to shine, focus on the good, that the doctors are doing what they think is right. You ARE being taken care of taking every precaution.
Rest easy that you ARE doing what you can. Focus on what you are doing NOW< than what CAN, will or MAYBE.

Re: Bed rest = mind jail
Thanks ladies... No hematoma, I'll know more tomorrow.at my appt.
I feel like bed rest if I was further along and KNEW the baby would be here and be ok if it was to come early or something, it would be different. I just lay here day in and day out and when I see bleeding I get so emotional predicting the worst. I've just been so lonely and getting to the point of when we lost my first baby, it's just so hard. I had to cancel a bunch of plans this week because of bed rest because initially I planned on staying really busy KNOWING I'd be feeling the stress of approaching the milestone of my first loss. For years I was convinced I wasn't meant to have things work out because they never did... and now being on bed rest close to the time of when we lost our first baby, it's just toying with my emotions. Ok, vent over..
