Bedroom Doors - Opened or Closed at night?
I've always slept with a closed/locked door at night. Now with DS in the next room, we usually leave our door wide open and keep his closed. This totally freaks me out bc I'd like to hear if someone (God forbid) is coming in, but I also want to hear every sngle sound in my house. What do you do?

We keep our bedroom and DD's bedroom doors closed....we have the video monitor so I can see/hear her at night.

Our door open, his door closed. We live in a small condo so we hear our neighbors kid too.
In the summer, we will probably close it, till he falls alseep and open it at night to get air circulating, since we don't have central air, just in 1 room and its enough as long as doors are open.

Her door is closed..mostly because she goes to bed between 7-8 and we don't want to wake her. also, Dh gets up at 4:30am & doesn't want to wake her.
Our door is open bc our dog sleeps with us, and in case she needs to be use the weeweepad, we leave it open.
I have the video monitor right on my nightstand, so I can see hear her.

Ours is open, DDs is slightly cracked.
When the ACs are on, they are both closed.

For fire safety reasons (among other reasons), we keep everyone's doors closed at night.

I dont see the point of keeping DS door open. it has always been closed at night and at bedtime. Our door is closed as well. We have a monitor so I can hear him.

Both of our doors are wide open. Their room tends to get chilly when the door is closed.

Cool, thanks everyone! I have a video monitor on my nightstand as well, so I can hear/see him. I guess I just needed to hear other people closing both doors to feel better about it. Not sure why, but I feel closer to him with my door open.

Closed doors are safer (for example, in case of a fire).
However, we sleep with the kids doors closed and ours open.

both closed
DS goes to sleep at 7PM
we have hardwood floors so I like it quiet in his room with the fan on and sound machine playing on a lower volume
His room is always pretty comfy
Once we go upstairs we close it. I think DS is loud and like the TV loud
I have the video monitor and when that boy wants out of his crib believe me... I can hear him

Always closed. In our apt we had cats and we didn't want them in their room at night. Now that we live with my ILs the bedrooms are very close together so I keep the door closed with a humidifier running to block out noises.

I dont need them to hear the tv or phones ringing or me walking past their room! So I def close them

I'm sure everyone will laugh but I called the fire department and they say always closed doors! I was afraid of the same thing someone coming in and of course fire so we moved dd crib into our room lol! Once we move her back in her room her.door will always be shut and our dogs will sleep outside her door and our door will be open.

Same as you...ours opened, theirs closed and monitors on my nightstand for each of their rooms. I am a nervous wreck about hearing everything!

both doors are slightly opened when we go to bed.
while we are up and moving around, his door his shut.
