Re: Bedtimes

IN my opinion, if it works for your family on a daily basis then do it. HOwever, if you find him waking early and not getting enough shuteye I would have him in bed earlier.

Re: Bedtimes

Chat Icon (age 3) - bedtime is 9 p.m, but we are transitioning to no naps and earlier bed since he starts preschool in September. He sleeps in until 8-8:30 a.m.

Chat Icon (age 1) - bedtime is 8 p.m., sometimes 8:30. She also sleeps in until 8-8:30 a.m. A couple of times she is up at 7 though Chat Icon (we are NOT morning people here!).

Re: Bedtimes

Sydney is 9 1/2 months old.... she goes to bed between 9:30 and 10:30. I love it, we get to spend a ton of time together after work without feeling rushed.

Nicholas is 19 months and he goes down at 8:30 pm. Before he did it at 9:00 pm but we decided to move his bed time. Today he was so tired that he went to sleep at 8:00 pm.

Re: Bedtimes

We've been able to stretch her bedtime to 7:30, but usually she's miserably tired by 7:15. She was going to bed by 6:30 every night for months, and I couldn't take it anymore because if I needed to go somewhere she'd be so cranky, so we adjusted her bedtime, and it's works out great.
I think that if you put your child down later, at like 9:30, and it works for you, then why not? But if you're not happy with that time, then I will tell you this: I've always read you can put a baby down earlier and they'll sleep to their normal time, but you can't put a baby down later and expect them to sleep later. So, I took that advice when she was a couple of months old, and it really helped.

DD is 5 months old and goes to bed between 8-9 and gets up between 7 and 8. (today it was 9 Chat Icon ) Once she is down she is down for the night, so she has all of her feedings before bed.

Re: Bedtimes

Bella is gonna be 2 in September and she DEMANDS to be in bed no later than 8. She is normally in bed at 7:15 on most nights. Ask my sis, she has physically attempted to climb INTO her crib when she wants to go to bed.

I wish she was more flexible with bedtime sometimes, but my daughter asks for night-night and will beg for it after a certain time, I don't know one day in the last year where she went to bed later...no matter where we are.
She sleeps until 7 am or earlier, but she is not allowed out of her crib until 7 am and she knows it and is pretty good about it.Chat Icon

What time do they get up in the am??

My ds goes in for the night around 10 and gets up around 6 for a bottle and then back to bed until around 8. He is 5 months old.
