Bees (yellow jacket) nest in A/C (in the wall AC)?

Anyone ever experience this? I've been finding a dead bee here or there in a room in our house that has an in the wall AC. Then, when outside noticed a ton of bees swarming around the outside of the AC - my DH just discovered that they are living in the outside part of the AC! We taped the front up for now so no more can come in and trapped the back and hopefully the ones in there will die and then we can take the unit out and solve the problem...but, wondering if anyone ever had this happen and, if so, how did you fix it? TIA!

I would just get some spray and wait for the sun to go down (at like dusk) and spray them. (They don't fly when the sun goes down)

Definitely spray a distance away and have an escape route into the house! LOL We did this with YJ's that nested in a tree root...they were gone after that and never came back (a good 4+ years now)

We just had a similar bee problem, but not in relation to an a/c unit...there ended up being a hive in the ceiling of a closet of one of our downstairs spare rooms! We saw a bunch of bees in and out of one section outside our house and turned out they were building a hive in the wall/ceiling.
We had Suburban exterminators come and they solved the issue right away...no more bees! I suggest you get it taken care of right away too b/c it could become a major issue! Good luck!
