Best bank (intrest rates) to open a savings account in for DS?
We need to open an acct for DS, I want to do a savings acct. Does anyone have an info on what banks have the best rates for a savings acct? Anyone but BofA. DH is bitter with them (whole other post ).

Check out bankrate.com it lists all the institutions and their rates, etc

I just opened an 18month CD at Citibank for 2.25%
The savings rates are terrible all over right now.
Checked around and found it was a good rate and I bank with them so I went with them.

i was just lookin into this yesterday b/w ING 1.4% and citibank 1.30...i would probably go ING onyl cuz the fact that you cant easily have the money or withdraw it right away.....the account is going to be in you and DH's name right? or can it be DS's name....our DS is only 3 1.2 w. old.....

I did ING, but you have to open and account in DC's name to link it to-- at your local bank or whatever.
