Re: best paint

I am currently loving http://www.mythicpaint.com/

It's 100% no VOC, but it's $$$. I would suggest getting anything advertised as low VOC or no VOC. It is so much better for your health and the environment.

If you go with the big brands, go with their low or "no" VOC line of paints. I think just about all of them have one.

Re: best paint

We used BM in our house. But when we paint our Den I think we are going to use Valspar. They have a great selection of colors just like BM. And their base coat is low VOC. BM is coming out with a no VOC paint this Spring, in stores, so maybe check that out. I know I will be checking before we paint with Valspar.Chat Icon

We used Sherwin Williams and were very happy.

My parents had a painter do their painting and he used Benjamin Moore because he felt it covered best.

Re: best paint

BM or Sherwin Cashmere...

Our painter only wanted to use BM but we are able to get a discount on SW so that's what we went with, the painter said it was the same as painting with BM.

Re: best paint

We used BM for our condo, but we are moving into our house and I think we'll try Behr. Both got the highest ratings by Consumer Reports, and Behr is significantly cheaper.

I made my DH paint 2 rooms with Valspar about 4 years ago because it got good ratings on Consumer Reports. We thought it was absolutely horrible. Bad handling and poor wear. Both rooms have since been repainted with BM Chat Icon

Re: best paint

We used Sherwin Williams SuperPaint and Cashmere in our house, as did my parents in theirs. If you visit the website you can find coupons for 15% off.

Re: best paint

I really like Ralph Lauren paint. I love the colors!! BUT, it's expensive so we just did the guest room in RL and the rest of the house in BM. Our house was all cream too so we took it on and now we have paint burn out so we are taking a break for now. Two rooms left!! Chat Icon

Re: best paint

We've repainted our entire house ourselves, and used different kinds of paint. My favorite was Benjamin Moore. Great color choices, and it still looks good over time.

Re: best paint

Most of our rooms were painted with Sherman Williams and I think it's OK.

I recently re-painted our dining room with Olympic Paint from Lowes and it was great. It's low VOC, covered very well and was reasonably priced.

Re: best paint

Definitely BM and if you want to splurge, Ralph Lauren, b/c of the color palette and they have paints that dry to different textures.

What I loved about BM, is that we painted our townhouse in 2003, in 2007 we had to repair a huge chunk in the wall, we repainted w/ the same BM color and it dried to a perfect match w/ the rest of the wall!!
