Best prices thread
Let's start a thread about the best prices we've seen for different things - formatted like this: I wouldn't buy _____ for more than $______.
Example:
I wouldn't buy a whole chicken for more than $.99/lb.
This can help us see what we should/shouldn't buy... as we all know, those supermarket circulars can be tricky! Sometimes the store brand is STILL cheaper than the premium brand on sale!

I'm not sure I get it, can't I just say Best Yet Market had cucumbers 5 for $2? Cause I would pay more if I really needed the cukes

I think I get what you mean.
like, for me, I won't spend more than $1.99 p/lb for an organic whole chicken. $1.69 per lb for legs or thighs, $3.99 per lb for breasts. I won't pay more than $10 per lb for wild caught salmon/shrimp, more than $6 per lb for wild caught cod/halibut/hake. more than $6 bucks for a 2lb bag of mussels. more than $6 per lb for organic stew beef or ground beef.
I won't pay more than $3 for a 5lb bag of flour or sugar. I wait for butter to be 2 lb's for 5 dollars.
I won't pay more thant $3 for a loaf of sliced bread.

I saw cod 'on sale' for $15.99/lb. I turned around and walked out. They weren't even loins!!
I have seen them for 4.99/lb in grocers.. but I don't like to buy fish in grocery stores.. the best price I've gotten at a fish market is $6.99/lb.
I just paid .89/lb for whole chicken and I've seen legs and thighs for .69/lb.
About a month ago Best Yet had half gallons of milk for .88!! I don't expect that to be repeated anytime soon.
I wait until Porterhouse and boneless rib go on sale to buy - I usually get them at 4.99/lb.. but last month they had them at 3.99/lb!

It was at a fish market in Bayport. Don't feel ripped off! Apparently it's a going rate.. I'm just cheap.

I could go on and on...I am a big watcher of the ads and I know the rock bottom prices and stock up.

cereal 1.50 a box with coupon
paper towels 2.99 an 8 pack with coupon
pork chops 1.99 a pound
eggs 1.50
Bottled salad dressing..free with coupons
Sirloin 3.99 a pound
London broil 1.99 a pound
organic chicken breast 3.99 a pound
strip steak $4.99 a pound
Soap, deodorant, razors, shampoo,toothpaste toothbrushes, I get for free from CVS using ecb coupons
