BF and dairy free diet
The Ped recommended I eliminate dairy from my diet. Besides fruits what can I eat for breakfast? I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out what I can eat besides oatmeal. I'm also looking for recipes for meals I can make but haven't found much other than dessert or snacks.
When you went dairy free did you eliminate it completely at once or gradually stopped? I know that many foods contain traces of dairy but am wondering if I should stop cold turkey or gradually eliminate it.

Re: BF and dairy free diet
Is it just milk products or eggs as well? If you can have eggs I would try things like eggs and bacon, vegetable omelettes, fruit smoothies. Also try coconut milk yogurt...it is very tasty, and you can add some fruit to it. Almond milk is a great option as well...that way you would be able to have cereal.

I lived on smoothies in the AM

it was the only thing to keep me away from carbs!!

This sounds delish!!!
Ped said only milk no mention of eggs. So eggs are okay.

Re: BF and dairy free diet
I've been dairy free for 2 weeks now & went cold turkey to eliminate it all! It's not as bad as I thought! I eat eggs w/lenders bagel or cereal that is milk free with coconut milk. Make sure you check the labels on the cereal though. I've been eating a lot of salad, meat, & veggies. Tostitis w/hummus & salsa, knishes (gabriellas brand), and some veggie soup-also be sure to check labels!
If you do a search on here you will find what everyone told me! Super helpful!
Good luck!

Re: BF and dairy free diet
So you use almond milk to replace fat free milk? What do you use in place of cheese, butter, yogurt? Where do you buy the products? Should I just go to trader joes and ask for help? Ughhh I hope in doing this AJ gets better and I lose all the weight I'm still holding.

He also told me to limit leafy greens. Does this mean all lettuce? I eat salad with spinach. that I definitely stopped eating. But not sure what to eat in place of it.

I wld limit the spinach, but mixed salad might be ok.
I substitue butter with Earths Balance spread. I got it @ a specialty supermarket by me but trader joes or whole foods prob has something similar! My dd was better in 1.5 weeks of being on the diet & I've lost 4 lbs!

Re: BF and dairy free diet
I got waffles and pancake mix from Wild by Nature. Most buckwheat pancake mix is dairy free and I use coconut milk. I will check the name of the waffles in a bit.
