BF moms of newborns or btdt mommies - especially moms of 2 or more - need help re: nighttime...
Can you please tell me what your night time routine is/was in the early days (first few weeks)...
DH has been helping so much with the nights so I can sleep in between feedings at night but, now that he is going back to work - it's going to be all me and I am nervous.
DD is 10 days old so obviously she is determining her schedule at this point. The problem is - it's hit or miss with her sleeping in b/w feedings - she nurses every 2-4 hrs generally at night (from start to start) - sometimes she gets really sleepy after but, other times she is wide awake or cranky and uncomfortable. So, we've been keeping her downstairs at night with DH so that I can sleep upstairs and so that her cries don't wake up DS (who is 2).
My question is what do you do? I'm thinking I'll put the bassinet back in our room - feed her, put her to sleep and just nurse her in our room when she is hungry BUT, the problem is - what do you do when DC doesn't go to sleep or is fussy? How do you sleep? How do you keep DH/DC #1 from waking up?
Sorry so long and TIA! This is all new to me b/c my first never slept at all

Invest in a great sound machine now! Both my kids have sound machines in their rooms so they don't hear each other cry. It really works. As for the routine, I remember freaking out about it too- especially since he travels for work. Hang in there- it all works out!

I agree with the sound machine--I didn't use one, but it sounds like a good idea.
Mine are 20 mos. apart and I brought the litte one upstairs from the start. I was reeaalllly worried that my older one would wake up from the crying, but she never did.
It's going to work out...you'll see!
