Bfing moms that transitioned to milk?
Do your babies drink a whole sippy cup of milk at once or do they sip it throughout the day?

I am not there yet love but that is the plan. when we transition to whole milk he will have a bottle free existence!
ETA: we give him water now in the sippy and he loves it. he'll drink out of anything.
I was thinking to maybe give him bm/formula in the sippy for the last two weeks or so before milk is introduced, to get him used to something other than milk in the cup.
not sure if it will work, but it's the plan!

I actually just posted about this (kind of) My ped suggested that we start by giving DS milk from a cup....a regular cup. I would hold it and let DS sip from it.

Yes..def I bottle free existence over here too!
I started with water in the sippy too and now I use a straw sippy for milk

yeah,that's wht I do (hold it and let him sip from it) but he is only sipping an ounce or a few sips at a timeand I'm wondering if when the time comes he should be downing 5 or so ounces at once??

I went from EBFing to whole milk. For the first few weeks I did just one feeding a day. for those first weeks she would just sip at the sippy cup. Gradually she took more and more and when she finally drank most from the sippy cup I dropped another nursing session. I kept doing that until she was totally weaned. It took about 7-8 weeks total. I didnt rush her, but I noticed that she wasn't really initiating breastfeeding, but wouldn't push me away either.
DD never took the bottle, so we went right to a sippy cup for that reason. I started with the playtex sippy and then I switched to the munchkin straw cup.

Good to hear positive feedback as DS is a year and has been EBF until now. I tried him with the sippy cup yesterday with milk and he had no interest - he loves his sippy cup for water though. I will start giving him sips of milk from the sippy now to get him used to the taste.
