Depends on the year, but we have 20 houses on our block and we contribute $75. That usually includes a DJ and some type of children's activity during the day.

My sister moved into a new house last year and they do a crazy block party!! I have never been to one like this. They charged each family $125 but it covers the food and drinks too. They set up and bunch of BB-Q's and cook all the food, which is awesome! Each house is also only allowed to invite 6 extra guests. They have water slides, bouncers of all shapes and sizes, DJ, ice cream man (one of the people on the block owns a truck so they kids all get ice cream) Face painting, characters (Elmo, Spongebob, Clown), magician. It was crazy!!

$50-75.

The higher number had to do with a lot of the houses with elderly residents not participating.

It paid for a DJ, bouncehouse, games & prize giveaways, glowsticks, etc & an icecream truck (ice cream was paid for out of the fund).

The following year was $75 & my husband's band played (but we paid the band members)

Our block party fee is $50 per house to participate.

That's what ours was last year (our first year on this block). We paid it, and then DD decided to be born that day, so we missed it Chat Icon Chat Icon

I dont think i'd do the per person fee... thats just too hard to keep track of (which would make it unfair for those who pay for every person, vs those who pay for only a couple of extras) and so many people tend to just show up last minute, come and go, etc when it comes to block parties.
