Block Party related
So I said on the block party thread that I was always upset that I never was part of a block party. Well well well today we get something in our mailbox that our block is having one! However, it was a reminder that we need to get our cars off the block at a certain time that day. This thing is in a week. We were never asked if we wanted to be part of this AND there is no contact name or number on this flyer.
I am a little bummed. I would have liked to have participated but I have no clue who organized this. We also are fairly new to the block.
ETA-The flyer just says the date and rain date and what time it starts. They are not having a DJ. Do you think we can participate since I know a DJ is what makes up the cost of a block party.

Yes you can participate! It would be a great way to meet neighbors. I would also try to ask around to see who organized the block party. It will be super nice to join in the fun!

You don't think it's too late??? Maybe we missed it when they were going around. I wish we had known sooner. We only really talk to one set of neighbors.

i'd ask the neighbors that you talk to about who was organizing it, etc.
i think if there is no dj then there is only a permit cost? in any event, if you live on the block i think you would be allowed to participate.

Did you sign anything to have the road closed? Someone should have come around with something for you to sign in order to close the rd. Who ever has their property blocked off has to sign it for the town permit.

Yes in my town we have to have each house on the block sign something to say we are ok with them blocking off the street.
But... I do not think it is too late at all!

NO we never signed anything! This flyer was the first indication that this thing was happening and it's next week. And on the top it says 'reminder" so I guess they went around. Wish they would have put a contact person on it.
