Blood clot in leg
Has anyone had this? What does it feel like? Constant pain? Sharp or dull?
I have an odd pain in my calf - since I'm on BC I'm worried since they always tell you to be on the lookout for this. Mine is dull - not constant, just a few hours per day.
Wondering if I'm just being paranoid or if it is time for the doctor.

as far as I know blood clots in the legs are painful...really painful.
If it makes you feel better, go to the doc.
That used to happen to me on BC. How long have you been on it and has it been this way since?

I've been on the same BC for 14 years - so that's not new.
A few weeks ago I had sharp pain in my lower leg near my ankle when I put weight on it but it went away after an hour or so. Today I have a different, dull pain farther up my leg by about 6 inches.
Odd. I guess I'll let DH look tonight to see if he sees swelling or discoloration. Hard to tell when its your own leg if it's not a huge different. Then I'll sleep on it tonight and see how it feels.
I just know if I goto the GP all he is going to do is send me for an ultrasound.

If it puts your mind at ease, go.
If you go have them do a doppler too.
Has anything else changed in your health? Any new medicines?
I used to get crazy leg cramps on BC..had to stop..also it would deplete my potassium for some reason..hence the leg cramps.

DH had a clot years ago after a motorcycle accident and he said the pain is very powerful and constant, but you should def go see a doctor.

not a doc at all....but if you can take a baby aspirin just in case it is a clot and call doc asap just to set your mind at ease! xoxo

Dr appt tomorrow afternoon. The spot where the calf pain is located is turning red. And now around my knee is starting to hurt.

I was having pretty constant pain in my calf this summer.... and was worried, muy mom and sister were too and yelled at me to call the dr. I had a doppler done and it was nothing, but it did give give me peace of mind!
they said it could have been muscle related and maybe I was no drinking enough water.
The Doppler was 10 minutes, easy!

I had a blod clot in my leg and did not feel it so I would get it checked

Doctor said it sounds like I have a clot. But went for the doppler and it came back clean with no clot. I'm supposed to just keep it elevated and wait.

Glad you got it checked out. The doppler doesn't always find a clot. Do what the doc says.
Did he give you any meds?

Nope - just use tylenol for pain and keep it elevated.
