Blood in stool?
The last few days I've noticed tiny flecks of blood in Yael's stool. Now, I've known for quite some time that she has a sensitivity to milk so I eliminated it from my diet, though I ate something with milk in it a few days ago without knowing.
She also strains A LOT when she has to poop.
By all accounts though, she's perfectly fine - happy as a clam, sleeping well, not fussy at all.
Do I have to make an appointment with the pediatrician or just mention it at our next appointment?

I wouldn't wait for the next appt. Personally I would go tomorrow and check it out. Blood in anything makes me nervous.

Re: Blood in stool?
Call your ped. Ours had us drop off a few poopy diapers to be tested, and then they diagnosed a milk protein allergy. He was FF so they switched our fomula and then we had to bring in follow up diapers to see if it was helping. They even wanted to see them if there was no visible blood since there can be microscopic flecks.
They asked us to put each one in a separate ziplock and mark the date and time on it so they could see if there was any improvement over time.

I too would go to the Dr sooner rather than later. It could be a milk allergy or nothing. Doesn't hurt to be sure.
Charlotte had blood in her stool - it was more than flecks. It wound up being a fissure (from straining) - it's rather common in infants as they learn to use their muscles, etc. It healed on its own.

This is what I thnk it is - she strains tremendously when she has to poop. I'll make a call to the pediatrician just to be sure though... it will have to wait until Tuesday though because of Yom Kippur.
