Blue eyed babies/children
My son has blue eyes right now (4 1/2 months old) and someone told me that they heard that if the child has a blue vein on their nose... their eyes will remain blue. My son does have that vein so i'm hoping it's true.
My question is... those of you with blue eyed children... do they have the vein or no?
just curious.

Re: Blue eyed babies/children
Very odd but yes my blue eyed ds has a blue vein on his nose. It is between his eyes on the right side of his nose. Oh and he is 10.5 months old so I was told they will stay blue.

Re: Blue eyed babies/children
No, DS is 11 months, and no blue vein on his nose, but his eyes are still blue. Someone told me recently they will probably stay that way now.
I'm guessing the vein thing came about since blue-eyed children are usually fair-skinned and veins may be more visible?

I will check my neice tomorrow. She has blue eyes also. She is almost 3. I was told it fades with age (the blue vein) so checking myself won't work .

Mine has this too, same exact spot!!! That would be cool if its true, the baby is 100% DH, it would be nice if he had blue eyes like me!!!

Re: Blue eyed babies/children
I have no idea if miki had that but she has blue eyes
I thought if they were lighter blue at birth, they will stay blue or green and if they are darker blue, they will turn brown

YES! You give me hope!
my husband and i both have brown eyes. Now i know there's nothing wrong with brown eyes, but i've always wished i had blue.
Anyways, all the men in my family have blue eyes so i'm hoping that my son is the same way.

Re: Blue eyed babies/children
I've never heard this. DD has blue eyes and they are getting lighter as she gets older-almost grey. I'll have to check for the vein. I have heard eyes can change up to 2 years.

Re: Blue eyed babies/children
You should ask moms of brown eyed kids it they have the vein. If they do, then it may not be a reliable indicator.

Re: Blue eyed babies/children
You usually see the blue vein because of lighter skin babies not because they have blue eyes.

My sister just happened to calll and my neice does have the blue vein. She is going to check my other neice (who has brown eyes) when she gets home from kindergarten. Oh and she thinks I'm nuts for asking these questions

I have no clue if DD has it I've never noticed it if it is there, and her eyes are blue at 16.5 months.

I never heard that, but my DD is 8.5 months with blue eyes and also has the blue vein on her nose. That is bizarre.

Re: Blue eyed babies/children
DS has a blue vein on his nose and his eyes turned greenish-light brown.
His eyes started out as a deep steel blue.
