Re: Blue eyed babies/children
My DD has the blue vein and she has blue eyes, albeit a darker blue. She is almost 2 so I figure they'll either stay blue or turn green like DH and I.
Honestly, I think the vein has more to do with skin color. My eyes went from blue to green at around 2 years old and I have heard that is pretty much the cutoff - they may change shades after but they probably would not turn brown if they are blue at 2.

Re: Blue eyed babies/children
Thats funny, however I don't know if its true. My son has blue eyes and a blue vein above his eyes, as does my friends daughter who is almost 5, Noah is almost 3.

I have no idea if miki had that but she has blue eyes
I thought if they were lighter blue at birth, they will stay blue or green and if they are darker blue, they will turn brown
Yup thats true! Julia was born with dark blue eyes that went to green then brownish green at a year and stayed that way, Todd Jr's eyes are dark blue also, so I'm sure his will be the same color as his sisters.

DS has a blue vein on his nose and his eyes turned greenish-light brown.
His eyes started out as a deep steel blue.
Ditto for my DS

My dd has a prominent blue vein on her nose and kept her blue eyes until 7 months. But her eyes are now hazel.

Re: Blue eyed babies/children
wow that's so interesting you said that because DD has a pretty dark blue vein on her nose and she DOES have blue eyes. The doctor said the vein will not be as noticeable as she gets older. DD is just over 6 months. I'm hoping they stay blue so I hope that is true!

no, my daughter is 13 months old and her eyes are very blue and she doesn't have a blue vain.
My little brother (who is 5) has brown eyes and STILL has a blue vain.

Re: Blue eyed babies/children
The vein shows on many fair skinned children. DD has it. I think because light eyes and light skin have a tendency to be together that's where that wives tale would come from.

never heard about a blue vein on the nose . Never checked since both DH and I have blue eyes so does our DS.
Same here!
ETA: actually DS does have a blue vein but it above his nose inbetween his eyes. I thought it was just b/c he is fair.

DD has blue eyes still at almost 2. She doesn't have a blue vein on her nose, but it is noticeable under her eyes.
