boaderline diabetic?
What exactly do they mean when they say someone is boarder line diabetic. The person is 28 years old. Can you get diabetes that late in life?

I don't know what borderline means but I know you can develop diabetes later in life.

Many people develop diabetes in their 60s or 70s. It has no age restrictions... 
"Borderline" means that after a meal, the sugar levels are slightly elevated, but not in the "danger" zone yet. Sometimes, just some weight loss and diet management can keep it under control.

You can get Type 2 Diabetes later in life (or earlier in life!) I was diagnosed when I was 28
Diet & Exercise are key in keeping those levels down!

Borderline diabetic means that the person is insulin resistant. Their body has been overproducing insulin for years (oftentimes due to a sugary or carb-heavy diet), and the body has become less sensitive to the neutralizing effects of the insulin.
The GOOD NEWS is that, if caught early, it's totally reversible! I recently found out that I am insulin resistant but I'm taking steps to get my weight and diet under control. That's the most important thing--and cutting down to almost no refined sugar is CRUCIAL!!!

Ditto about insulin resistance.
It CAN be completely reversed with diet and exercise.
