I liked it! Yes, I thought it was a little boring but I also thought that about the first 2 episode's of True Blood and almost abandoned that. Could you imagine Chat Icon

Sometimes I wish we could skip over all of t he character development and get right to the good stuff.

Re: Boardwalk Empire

I always give a new series a few chances, since they're setting up situations & characters. Can't really get around that much.

That said, I fell asleep 3/4 of the way through! Chat Icon Oops. I'll watch it on demand. DH is a Sorcese fan so I have a feeling it will be on every Sunday whether I want to watch it or not.

I read a review somewhere (maybe EW?) that said Scorsese only directed the first episode and of the 4 or so the reviewer had seen it was the worst one.

Re: Boardwalk Empire

I liked it, and agree, the first few episodes are character development and always takes a while to start moving..DH was on the fence about it..I think he was expecting it to be more"soprano" like but that said he didn't think it was bad, just not what he was expecting

I def think it needs a few more episodes to develop. I know people who worked on it and it is supposed to get better!

I love how they are using real gangsters as characters... Al Capone, Lucky Luciano...

It's going to be very interesting.

Re: Boardwalk Empire

I read an article that it's only loosely based on the true story, and the lead character's name was changed even.

I didn't know that about Scorcese, I assumed he was directing all of them. I guess they wanted people to think that anyway, to draw more people into the show.

Hmmm....maybe?

I kept forgetting who his character was because 1. he was a driver 2. the way he was dressed.
I def. expected him to be more dapper so you may be right on that one! Chat Icon
