How are you guys telling DM24nngel not to watch the movies at all? Just because she doesn't agree with actors getting paid so much, still doesn't mean that she can't appreciate the movie.

If there's a PPV fight on, and I pay for it, and I invite a whole bunch of people over to watch it, does that mean that they should pay ME because they 'stole' it by watching it on my tv? Chat Icon

Personally, I can't stand watching bootleg movies, because most of them are bad... but I have seen a few good versions and am proud that I didn't spend on them (they were borrowed).

IMO if you are sooo upset about how much people are getting paid ...the best way to get at their pockets is to not go see the movie ....

doing something illegal imo isn't the answer

I agree, you are making the WRONG people suffer.
My job relates to the entertainment field...people I know and love are affected when people steal movies, music and video games.
If I was stealing insurance and donna lost her job for it...she may understand a bit better.

Re: Bootlegs

IMO, I don't blame the people buying the finished product for those people that lose their jobs. I think that it's a combination of these high prices nowadays, and how easy technology has made it for us to do things ourselves.

I do sympathize with people losing their jobs, but I think they way corporate america is today, no one is ever truly safe with their jobs. Everyone is expendable.

I can't believe so many people are actually paying for poor quality bootlegs when there are so many high quality bootlegs available for free.

I certainly wouldn't be paying for cam bootlegs.

It its close to home for some...ok well for me it does, I can't really speak for others.
When you open your botique won't you feel pretty strongly against shoplifting?

Thats a good comparison but wouldnt it be more like someone coming into her boutique and looking at her merchandise, making the same exact product she is selling and charging a 1/4 of the price?

All I was saying was my opinion, doesnt mean Im right for goodness sakes. I hate these threads that get all accussing for no reason.
I download songs off the internet too...BUT I STILL BUY CD'S.....DH buys bootlegs( about 4 per year, so its not like hes taking tons of money away or keeping some bootlegger in business) and we SEE MORE then that amount IN THE MOVIES.

Me not watching a movie in the theater cause I dont feel the actors should get paid that much , is NOT ognna stop the business, PLUS its just a freaking opinion...I'm not out rallying for it.

Chat Icon

I also think Lawyers get paid too much( crimnal defense ones) So if I got arrested, should I then defend myself?

I mean c'mon, dont attack me, tell me not to go to the movies, unless you hear the full story..which I didnt type because I didnt think my opinion would matter so much...LMAO

Next time I will be clearer.

LIKE I SAID...I dont LIKE bootlegs so I go see the movie, but I wish the world ( incom,e wise) was different anyway.

Deb G- I see your point completly.

In that case, I would think that there would be a sacrifice in quality to an extent. Just like with bootlegs- you can pay full price and get top quality, or buy a bootleg and get crappy quality.

Yup exactly BUT for the people who want a product for cheaper, they would choose the other store instead of Lolita's.

Heres the thing though..Im NOT SOOO upset by it. ( the amount of money actors make) I hate it, I think its wrong and HATE to support it, but I enjoy the product and thus life goes on, I like everyone pay into it ..Maybe I speak a little too dramatically sometimes so i made it seem more intense( how I felt , then I do). In short, I dont want anyone losing jobs, and Im just jealous I DONT MAKE THE MONEY) BUT, it doesnt hit that close to home for me, so I dont worry about it all that much, other then to express my opinion when asked.

And belive me I let people "steal" insurance too. By getting away with things they shouldnt ...LOL If I lost my job , so be it.

thing was I wasnt TRYING to understand anything, because I didnt KNOW THE OTHER SIDE OF IT.

Deb- now that you explained further, I CAN SEE it and my opinion has slightly changed in the last half hour.
Thats the thing about opinions, everyones is different, and CAN BE CHANGED.

no it would be more like...stealing it from her shelf, walking outside her shop and selling it out of a trunk for cheaper.

But in a bootleg version, doesnt at least 1 person have to pay for the original product?
