Bottle warmers??
Do you use a bottle warmer at home or just do it the old fashioned way? If you do use one, which one did you get? Also, do the ones for the car actually work? Does anyone use these as well? TIA!

Re: Bottle warmers??
I got one at my shower and returned it. When I use a bottle, I just put the bottle in a cup of hot water and let it sit for a few minutes.

I returned mine also. I warm the bottle in the micro and shake it to get the hot spots out. Works just fine.

Never got one, but I did the same thing with the bottles. Also, now I use the powder formula, so I keep boiled water in the teapot on the stove.

Re: Bottle warmers??
Is it necessary, no, but it is convenient. I used the Night and Day Bottle Warmer and I loved it. It has a compartment to keep 2 bottles cool for up to 6 or 8 hrs. We have a 2 story house and when DS was eating RTF formula every 2-3 hrs it was convenient to have all the bottles I needed for the night next to me. During the day when we were downstairs, I used the hot water method to heat up the bottle.

Re: Bottle warmers??
Im just not one to like having 86,000 things on my countertops. ITs makes me nuts So the less, the better for me. I had a bottle warmer for my first, which was a winter baby, and I loved it. then the counters got too crowded and I gave it away
Noreen, your baby will be mostly summer/fall so if you make formula, you can make room temp for the most part (no need to use cold water, therefore no need to warm anything) if you wanna warm the room temp bottle, it should take a few secs in the micro (well first time parents rarely do this one ) or let it sit in a mug of hot water.
With 2 toddlers, my question with EVERYTHING is "is it crucially absolutely life or death urgent?"
I once went to Johns cousins house and saw about ten bottles in her sink and bottletops on her countertop, I almost had heart failure with so much going on on her countertop. She prefers to get a clean bottle every tim and then do a wash at nite. Hey whatever makes a mommy happy... but months later she said my words got to her and she only was using 2-3 bottles and they were put away at all times
Its hard to ask registry questions, because everyone has such different opinions and none are right or wrong, do whatever you think will be best for you.
ETA: My MIL got us the car one, and she knows my "no extra chatchkas please" motto and I returned it right away. Im sure it comes in handy for long car rides, but you get out of the car to feed/change the baby anyway most of the time.

Re: Bottle warmers??
I bought one & still haven't used it! I either give it to her room temp. or I just warm it a bit in on the stove. I was reading the boxes of these warmers & many of them say "4 minutes to heat up", well, it takes me less to put some hot water on the stove & warm it up for a minute or two.

Re: Bottle warmers??
I had one but it didn't work with the bottles we used because they had the disposable liners. (We tried other bottles and she didn't like them.) So we'd just get a cup of hot water and put the bottle in for a few minutes.
