Bottle Warmers...

Should I put it on my registry?

Some people have told me that they didn't find it that useful. I don't have a microwave, how would I heat up mine...the old fashioned way? in a pot with water?

So sorry for the silly questions...

Not silly at all.

I got a bottle warmer and it boiled the milk Chat Icon I was so mad. I went to BRU and returned it.

You shouldn't heat up a bottle in the micro as it doesn't heat the bottle evenly. I heat up my son's bottle in a pot of water.

We didn't bother getting one of these, most of my "mother" friends advised against it, said it was a waste.

that's what I do as well. Put the bottle in a mug, and run hot water in the mug for a minute or 2. Works fine for me!

I use mine and love it! I used to put it in hot water but a bottle warmer is much faster.

Before I registered I asked these great moms and moms to be for advice on what was a waste and what we needed to register for, and a lot of the responses were that it was a waste, so I didn't register for it...

Re: Bottle Warmers...

I thought it would be a waste.......
I was looking at one at babies r us yesterday, and it says it was supposed to be really fast at heating the bottle, just 4 quick minutes!
4 minutes seems like a long time for me, especially when you have a crying baby.

You can always get it and take it back if you don't like it. I returned a swing that was all put together to BRU because I didn't like it.

I guess I am in the minority but I much prefer this to a mug of water, it also doesn't waste water like letting hot water run to heat up the bottle. Again this is just my preference. You will have to find what's going to work for you.

Re: Bottle Warmers...

I have a bottle warmer and some times it makes it to darn HOT. You can't use a microwave, it is not safe. Most of the time, I just run hot water from the sink and let the bottle warm that way in a mug.

Re: Bottle Warmers...

I have the Night and Day Bottle Warmer and I loved it. It has a cooling compartment to hold 2 bottles. We have a 2 story house and when DS was eating every 2-3 hrs it was convenient to have all the bottles I needed for the night next to me.

Re: Bottle Warmers...

Got one as a gift altho I didnt register for it....

I hear differing opinions about its usefulness. Register for the 20 dollar model, and if you dont like it you can always return it I suppose. On a side note, how do you not have a microwave!!!!! Chat Icon

I don't have one. I put some water in a measuring cup (1/2cup or so) micro it for 1 minute then put the bottle in for a few minutes. Comes out perfect.

I never used one. Hayley is on powder formula so I use room temp water for her bottles.

Re: Bottle Warmers...

I had the First Years bottle warmer and it was a waste of $17.99. We only used it a few times because it heated very inconsistantly and very often overheated the bottle to the point where it could have burned Emily really bad if we weren't careful about testing it. What we do is just fill up a cup with hot water from the sink and stick the bottle in there to warm up for a few minutes while we change her diaper and stuff.

Plan on using a mug of hot water. I don't want the warmer out on my counter.
