Breast Fed or Bottle Fed

Just curious to see how many moms with twins breast fed or bottle fed. I had such a bad experience with Reilly trying to BF that we just did the bottle. I was 100% that I was going to do bottle again but now I am grapling with the idea of BF, but am afraid of how hard it is. Mentally I am not sure I can do it for fear it will be like last time. DH doesn't think I should just cause he remembers how hard it was for me last time but I wanted to get feedback.

I wanted to them to have the benfits of breastmilk but wasn't keen on the actual idea of breastfeeding so I pumped for 3 months.

I am breastfeeding and pumping. Right now I either bf one and bottle feed pumped milk for the other or breastfeed them together. Breastfeeding them together is getting a little more challenging now that they are bigger and they spit up alot. We are always a mess!!! I pump after each feeding to get milk for the next bottle and to help keep my supply up. I supplement one formula bottle a day so that I can save the milk from that feeding so I can go out if I need to. It is working for us. I am not going to lie I have my moments when I feel like I just can't do it anymore but then the next day is a new day and I am ready to continue on. They are 3 months old now and I hope to continue until the end of the summer when I go back to work.

DDs are only 10 days old, but so far we are EBFing and it is going really well.

I EBFd DS until he was 15 months and loved it. So, I knew when I found out we were having twins I was going to try to make BFing work.

I pumped for the first 6 mo, but always had to supplement with formula. At this point, they are on all formula.

i pumped for the first month - i really wanted to do it longer, but it was just too much. i got mastitis really badly so i went on antibiotics. then, bc of the antibiotics, i got thrush and gave it to my son.

also, i pumped 8 times a day so after i would feed both boys, i had to pump for 15-20 minutes and then clean all of the parts. it made the entire feeding process so much longer. it just made me miserable.

i stopped after a month and gave them formula and was much happier!

it is a wonderful thing to be able to do, it just has to be right for you. i realized very quickly it wasn't for me and once i stopped feeling guilty about stopping, everything got a lot better.

good luck with your decision!

Re: Breast Fed or Bottle Fed

My twins are 3.5 months and I EBF them. So far so good. I EBF my DS until he was 18 months and my goal with the twins is 1 year but it is so time consuming and exhausting. I feel like I always have a baby or my pump attached to me.
