breastfeeding ??
I know its a long time out but I was just wondering if any of you have nursed your twins (or any multiples). I wanted to nurse so badly but I feel like I will just be feeding all day long with two of them. Any BTDT mommies sharing their experience with this would be greatly appreciated!! TIA!

Re: breastfeeding ??
i wanted to give breastfeeding a try but think it may be so much harder with twins so I'm going to take it one day at a time when the babies come and be prepared to change to formula if we have to. Sorry that I don't have any experience to help you...but if you really want to do it then you definately can!

Re: breastfeeding ??
I nursed my twins for 14 months, it can definitely be done! I won't lie - it was extremely difficult in the beginning, and I almost gave up, but I am so glad I stuck with it. You can tandem nurse to save time, and as the babies get older, they get more efficient, and faster. If you have any questions, let me know!

Re: breastfeeding ??
I just couldn't do it. Both babies had difficulty latching and it was soooo time consuming. So, I pump every four hours, or so, and bottle feed. I also supplement with formula because I don't have enough milk. It is easier because I feed them both at the same time in their boppys and, sometimes, I even pump while feeding both

I hope you will be able to come live at my house the first 6 weeks after my twins are born. You are my BFing inspiration!!
I did it with DS for 14 months, but the whole twin thing is haunting me.

Re: breastfeeding ??
I also tried and it was very hard. One baby had a really hard time latching so nursing them at the same time was hard. I pumped and bottle fed and had to supplement with formula. Did that for about 8 weeks and then had to give it up. It was very time consuming.

Re: breastfeeding ??
I tandem breastfeed my twins for three months. I had to stop due to the fact that one of my breasts did not produce enough for the twins as they got larger. If anyone is interested I teach a class on Tandem and One-at-a-Time Breastfeeding Workshop. We have a Workshop scheduled on Mon. Oct 18th at 7pm. See our ad or website for more info. http://www.lifamilies.com/company/11680.html www.theparentsense.com
Best of Luck! Rebecca

Re: breastfeeding ??
My twins are four months old and I'm still breastfeeding and supplementing with formula. In the beginning I was pumping every 2-3 hours because they would fall asleep on the breast and it took forever. I also have a 3 year old and needed to not be feeding her sisters 24/7. Now that they are bigger, I can do tandem nursing but it doesnt seem to fill them up enough.
I'm hoping to keep nursing in some capacity until 6 months. Right now I'd say we're at 80% formula and 20% breast.
