Re: Breathable Bumper vs. Nothing?
I have a breathable bumper in his crib which I actually put in before he was even born.... but I don't think it's really that necessary. Maybe since he throws himself around so much it might have provided some cushioning & also he likes to stick his legs through the spaces & I feel like the bumper kind of discourages that, so I don't regret using it if it maybe prevented a few bruises.

I used regular bumpers with DD
I got the matching regular crib bumper with my bedding for a shower present but have read numerous articles that say regular bumpers are an absolute no no due to the possible risk of suffocation/smothering. Most say that if you want to use the regular bumpers, you should only put them into the crib when the baby can control their own head/neck, so that if they did put there face into, they could pull themselves way from it to gain oxygen.

We didn't use them until she started moving around. In the very beginning we used nothing

I used bumpers for 2.5 years with my DD and never had an issue.

Nothing. DD is 12.5m and I've never even considered it. Not worth it to me. Her bedding came in 2 different sets, one with bumpers and one without. We got the one without but even if they came with them, I'd just throw them away.
Besides the suffocation risk, once they can stand, I've heard stories of kids using them to climb out.

Re: Breathable Bumper vs. Nothing?
We used the breathable ones bc DDhad serious chunka legs that would get stuck in between the slats!

Breathable Bumper vs. Nothing?
We use breathable because DS is a mover and was sleeping with his legs and arms out of the crib and I was nervous he was gonna hurt himself

This. DS would constantly stick his arm out of the cradle and wake up screaming, so we have breathable bumpers on his crib.

Re: Breathable Bumper vs. Nothing?
At one point we bought breathable bumpers b/c DS was sticking his leg between the crib rails. But they were pointless. We took them off and never looked back. Don't plan on using them for DD at all.

Re: Breathable Bumper vs. Nothing?
I used the breathable to keep binkies in as well as my ds arms and legs. He would get them out of the crib and scream in the middle of the night.

Nothing. We did the breathable for one DDs crib and she still stuck her feet out.

Re: Breathable Bumper vs. Nothing?
Right now I'm using nothing. If this LO is moving around too much and we're concerned they're going to hurt themselves, we'll probably get breathable bumpers.

I use the breathable bumper because twice DD leg got stuck in between the bars of her crib.
