bridal shower question..update with one more question
for my sister's upcoming bridal shower..
we have games all set but every shower i have gone to the bridal party does something,in regards to the underwear line, the wine poem, the candle poem
my sis does not want the underwear line bc she is shy..they do not drink wine and do not burn candles
does anyone else know of anything else we could do,like something to present her?
thanks so much!
---------------------------------------------------------------
thanks so much! i love all the suggestions! i was just curious, the cleaning poem which i love how does it work
while we read it everyone holds up the product when it gets mentioned?
do we put them in a basket and just read it then present the basket
thanks

Re: bridal shower question
How about the Candy Poem? It's cute, they incorporate certain candies into a poem and paste them on Oak Tag. Or the cleaning supply poem with items in basket? Google search or search on here even.

Re: bridal shower question
How about a little something for each holiday of the year...
(some of it may be hard to find now, but think creatively!)
Here is what I came up with.... maybe other posters can suggest more!
Valentines Day - red and white napkins St. Patricks Day - Easter/Spring - buy her bulbs to plant 4th of July - buy her an American Flag Thanksgiving - tablecloth Christmas - Christmas-y CD's New Years - bottle of champagne

Re: bridal shower question
Isn't there one for household cleaners? Alternatively, you could do something with useful kitchen gadgets and put them all into a nice oven mit.

Re: bridal shower question
How about each of you pick a holiday or two (depending on number f girls in bridal party) and make baskets for each holiday? I'm doing that for my gf. For each holiday I got tablecloths and towels for the house and decorative items.

Re: bridal shower question
here are a few other poems:
Candy Poem 1 On your wedding day before the BIG RED kiss Do not go BONKERS and GOO GOO Because I'm there for you when You're in SHOCK and start to see DOTS. You have very good RIESEN for loving (groom's name) to PIECES. I know your wedding day will be a musical SYMPHONY And your GOOD & PLENTY life together Will be like your bank account going from ZERO to 100 GRAND on PAYDAY. Just remember that once you have your RING-pop You vow to be together for NOW AND LATER Even through all the ROCKY ROADs. Please do not move away too far away, like to New YORK On the corner of CLARK and 5th AVENUE. We would all miss you too much! Oh yeah, and on your honeymoon we expect an ECLIPSE to happen In other words through a perfect STARBURST; MIDNIGHT of ALMOND JOY On the beach after a FUN-DIP in the ocean. BUTTERFINGER up, have WHOPPERS of fun And SKOR, but watch out for sand TURTLES! When you return we hope to see you a little bit CHUNKY And nine months later ready to give birth to a RUNT Oh HENRY! or BABY RUTH. Then you will all be known as the 3 MUSKETEERS.
Candy Poem 2 (Bride's name) has always been a bit of a LIFESAVER. She is MOUNDS of fun to be around Because she is such a funny GOOBER With a CAREFREE spirit. I PROMISE this bouquet will bring to her A SNICKER as I read my poem. I am not playing TWIX on (bride's name When I say that she has truly found her SUGAR DADDY And it's even a bonus that she Finds him to be one HOT TAMALE. (Bride's name) is (groom's name)'s BIT-O-HONEY Who can always count on her in a CRUNCH And I know he truly does TREASURE her Because he always tells HERSHEY'S beautiful And he loves her to PIECES. Even though she can make him NUTRAGEOUS at times She's still his SUGAR BABY.
Household Item Poem 1
It is only fair that we let (bride's name) in on a little SECRET. (Groom's name) may be FANTASTIC But wait until she finds out that he is not MR. CLEAN. He'll expect her to be a DYNAMO in the kitchen and he thinks all women should MOP & GLO. At night he'll wake you up at DAWN to SNUGGLE up close. We all AGREE that (bride's name and groom's name) Will have a very happy LIFE together. Our wish for you is that your home be filled with JOY And you remain as happy as ever in the FUTURE.
Household Item Poem 2
You are entering a new ERA. There will come a THYME in your marriage When you find (groom's name) is not always MR. CLEAN. But don't send out the S.O.S because he may VANISH. (Groom's name) will always bring you CHEER And you will find that he is your white DOVE. When you are together you will find JOY. So remember your PLEDGE and give him your ALL. The best of luck and good fortune in the years to come. And may (groom's name) always be your HONEY.
Household Item Poem 3
We gather with you to celebrate the DAWN of a new ERA. Marriage is a journey, some days it will be pure JOY But let's take a moment and talk about the others. There may come a time when you realize your big BRAWNY guy Isn't necessarily MR. CLEAN. When this and other little glitches occur Don't SHOUT or send up an S.O.S. Go EASY ON him. Hopefully the TIDE will change quickly Tensions will VANISH And things will BOUNCE back to normal. We think you and (groom's name) are a FANTASTIC couple With a ZEST for LIFE and A sincere appreciation for each other. We fully support you as you and (groom's name) PLEDGE To spend your lives as one. We wish you all the best Including love, happiness and Lots of time to SNUGGLE.

Re: bridal shower question
Love these ideas! Maybe this isn't exactly what you were thinking, but how about some sort of recipe scrapbook? The bridal party can make it, contribute their own recipes, and then ask those who attend to fill out cards of their own...
