BRU registry / return question

ok, the shower was yesterday, and we mercifully have very few returns.

I do have some items, though. most are not registry items and do not have gift receipts. Some items are definitely made exclusively for BRU/TRU, others are not.

Am I doomed that they won't accept the returns for an exchange? most of the stuff is safety stuff in the original/sealed packaging.....

someone said put it ON your registry (you can update online) and then go to return it.
I think they won't take it back w/o a receipt, but they will take it back if it was on your registry
