BRU taking back old bottles for credit
I am just reposting this from another website I frequent. I don't know if there is any truth to it but it worth a phone call at least!
I didn't believe it when I heard it, but it is true. Many Babies R Us stores are taking back ANY bottles that they carry and issuing either Merchandise Credit for full retail price or a one-to-one trade of bottles!
They are in the process of pulling all bottles off the shelves that are not BPA-free before a formal recall (which is expected to come soon) happens.
I called my BRU and asked and they said, "Yes, bring them in." So, I did - and got $55 in Merchandise Credit today for my 11 Dr. Brown's bottles that are 2 years old! I am glad I didn't sell them now - not only because I wouldn't have gotten that much, but also because they aren't good any more. When I was there, they took mine, counted them, got the same thing off the shelf and scanned it in as a return. All I had to do was give them my Driver's License and I was good to go. Amazing, huh?

Which one did you go to?
Someone posted yesterday or 2 days ago and BRU in Commack would not take them back.

I didn't go to one. The girl that posted that msg above lives in PA. I just researched it online and apparently different BRU's are doing different things

I had 2 Dr. Brown's bottles crack over the weekend. One had a starburst type crack that I noticed. Hello, leaking BPA!!!! The other had a crack near the top, maybe from tightening the travel caps too much. I think we threw both of those away. Oh well. If I get a chance to stop into the Sayville BRU, I will find out what they are doing. We are trying to get used to the Born Free Bottles but it's been tough.

be aware that each BRU is handling it differently, so call ahead and ask hhow they are handling it.
My BRU is a trip, so I have to find the time to do so!

I guess. the lady wasnt nice on phone.. she just said no box, no receipt not taking and then hung up on me. I hate BRU.

.. and of course I threw them all away. If I didn't throw them away then they would never be recalling them. Story of my life!!!!

I know for certain they(Sayville) are taking Dr Browns back with all the parts, no receipts or boxes necessary!!!
