You should be fine. Even if she is 8lbs at birth, she will loose some weight before leaving the hosp. DS, was 8.1 and was almost 1lb lighter when we left the hosp so he fit into NB clothes for quite a few weeks.

My first DS was 9lbs 14oz and 22.5inches long. I wore NB for about a week.
DS2 was 9lbs8z and 21.25 inches, he fit in NB longer.
I always feel the length of the child is more important to clothing size than the weight.

yep. dd was 8lbs 8oz and ds was 8lbs 11oz. both fit into nb clothes

my dd was 8.5 when she was born and left the hospital at 8lbs. she was able to wear newborn for about 2 weeks. it depends on what brand too because she was able to wear some newborn clothes longer than others.

DS was born 8 lbs. 2 oz. and was in nb clothes for a couple of weeks.

All of my children were just shy of 9 lbs and they each wore NB sizes for about 4-6 weeks.

My DD was 8 lbs 6 oz at birth. When we left the hospital she was 7 lbs 12 oz. She is almost 3 weeks and still wearing NB clothes. Some things are getting small on her but 0-3 months are still huge on her.
