Re: BTDT C-Section Moms

I had a scheduled one.
Seriously, painfree.
After surgery, I took one dose of ibprofren, I was scared to have spinal wear off...
The nurse came in and asked my pain level, I said zero, the spinal must still be working.... she laughed and said there is no way the spinal is still working(it was like 8 hours later)
That was it...never another dose.
No pain, walking to cafeteria the next morning with DH...
I lived on the 3rd floor, stairs were never a bother either.
I bf for the next 18 months.
good luck!
Wow!! I would have 10 kids if my recovery's were that great!

Re: BTDT C-Section Moms
I ended up having one after going through labor. I was up all night in labor and had the section in the am. That whole day I was wiped out. That night they had to get me out of bed because I had a room change. It hurt so bad, but it forced me to move. I tried to walk around the maternity ward every day. It hurt, but I think it helped my recovery. It's no picnic, but at least there is a nice reward, a beautiful baby! Good luck!!

I had a scheduled c-section. I was 4 days past my due date and wasn't progressing.
I had my c-section at 9am and DD was brought to my room around 12pm. I was able to hold her just fine. I didn't BF but I don't think it would have been a problem if I wanted to.
By the 2nd week I felt so much better. I could move around fine and was even able to drive myself to a follow up appt at my OB at 2 weeks.
HTH
So wait...you didn't see the baby for 3 hours??????
She was born around 9:45am and I got to see her before I went to recovery. Then they took her to the nursery to evaluate her. They had the pediatrician come in and see her and by the time they did all the tests and cleaned her up and the ped saw her then they brought her to my room. I was in recovery for about 30 mins and then they moved me into a room. She was brought in about an hour and a half later.
