BTDT Day care moms: how to begin the search
Sorry to crash but I thought you would be my best resource. I am due in Feb and would put baby in daycare starting late Aug 2010. I would like to begin the process of looking for a day care - any suggestions?
I'm in the Smithtown area so any recs are also appreciated.

Recommendations are a good place to start but there are also some good websites that report violations, etc.
Child Care Council of Suffolk
NYS Office of Children & Family Services
Helpful Site with Questions for Daycare

I would ask around to other Mommies in your area. You can also use this site to find out if the program has any violations against them.

Definitely ask around. We found our day care from a recommendation our neighbor.

I looked up the ones local in my area... then searched on here to find posts about different ones- That got me to narrow down my list... i then called up to find out pricing & hours included... Then we checked out the one I thought was the best fit- and we went with it since we felt that confident/
