BTDT delivered at Winthrop
Does anyone know how militant they are there about what you wear while laboring? I was looking at those labor skirts I saw online and thought they looked good. Plus I am pretty large busted and hate having the girls swing around and wanted to wear my strecthy sleep bra. Anyone know?
Thanks.

Re: BTDT delivered at Winthrop
I dont remember them being that strict at all. I wore their gown b/c I didnt want to mess up my clothes. After I delivered I wore my clothes after the first day- ( TMI- if you deliver vaginally you bleed)

I'm fairly sure you can wear a bra, but they wanted me in their hospital gown. I don't know about a skirt...I would think it would get kind of messy?

Re: BTDT delivered at Winthrop
I wore the gown, because it was convenient and I didn't want to mess my clothes. But I wore my bra the entire time. I have a very large chest and am so uncomfortable without my bra. They were fine with me leaving it on. When I got my epidural the nurse unhooked it for the dr. and when he was done she hooked it again.

It's some kind of garment designe dspeficially for labor & delivery I think it's called Binsi. I just don't want my butt all hanging out. This is my third kid but I just don't like being all exposed in front of a zillion people.

I wore the hospital gown and a wire-free sports bra. They asked me if it had underwire, and when I said no, they said it was fine to wear.

No underwire bra and hospital gown. They prep you up in case you need a c-section.

I would thnk it would be in the way if they had to do an emergency c-section. Also where is the waist band in regards to where the epidural is?

This is the link to the site. I originally saw it in a Pregnancy magazine.
Binsi labor & birth wear
Haven't ordered yet I just hate the idea of my whol evag & butt being exposed whenever they have to lift up my gown. I especially don't like the roving bands of interns playing science project. I don't allow that. I know it's a teaching hospital but no one's learning on me.

I agreee - I am not comfortable with that at all. The Binsi wear does seem comfortable, and it is designed with medical access in mind. I am seriously considering it.

Re: BTDT delivered at Winthrop
Depends on who your nurse is some might give you this if you whip that out but I'm all for the pt being comfy as long as it doesn't restrict your medical care. I think it's a lovely skirt but personally I think it's a little to pricey for something you'll probably ruin. Another idea is to wear two gowns one covering your front and one covering your back. I do that a lot for pt's who are on the "shy" side.

Re: BTDT delivered at Winthrop
Agreed. Not loving the price point. I probably will end up not getting it. I would hope that nurses try to be as discreet as possible when doing routine checks, etc. and not just whip out my vag in front of the whole world. I just don't see the need for the whole world to see me. I have a big enough mouth if I need to have one but hopefully it wouldn't come to that.
Thanks for all the replies!!
